About Danish krone
Danish krone is the official currency of Kingdom of Denmark, Greenland and Faroe Islands. It is issued by Danish central bank (Danmarks Nationalbank) and circulated as bank notes and coins. Each Danish krone is dividable into 100 øre.
Denmark used to be member of the Scandinavian Monetary Union and Danish krone was exchangeable for gold. With gold standard extinct, modern Danish krone is effectively pegged to the Euro. Denkmark is member of European Union but maintains its own currency.
