Controversial British influencers Tate brothers are finally free to leave Romania where they were held under house arrest and travel ban for 2 years, pending investigation in human trafficking.
While the investigation has not been concluded, Andrew and Tristan Tate are already on their way to Miami, as I am writing this, and, even if they are requested to return to Romanian court at some point in future, the odds of them actually complying or US authorities extraditing them are slim at best.
The reason why Tates were able to leave Romania in first place was almost certainly pressure from Donald Trump administration, even if Romanian side denies this. "Money doesn't smell" - I have no doubt some favors or promises were exchanged between Trump administration and Romanian government, neither of which have reputation of having particularly high moral standards.
The apparent destination for private Gulfstream G550 carrying Tate brothers, which has no broadcast registration number or destination, and likely belongs to US government "shadow fleet", is Miami. Miami could be regarded as the main outpost of "Trumpism" as it is where Mar a Lago presidential residence is located, and state laws of Florida fit the Trumpist ideology the most, perhaps rivalled only by Texas.
Interestingly, Tates didn't choose Dubai as their escape destination, assuming the terms of their release even allowed them to travel to anywhere but United States. Dubai is among favorite "safe haven" locations for many colorful characters with questionable past and it is considered to be well insulated from enforcement of international law or the reach of "Western" law enforcement.
Ironically, United States themselves may become more Dubai-like than Dubai itself, as Trump has shown no respect for International Criminal Court and even dared to "sanction" one of its judges. Trump has recently also suggested introducing a golden visa programme for United States, where foreigners could buy into US citizenship for a low price of $5 million - an opportunity more relevant to wealthy criminals seeking protection, rather than wealthy honest people who are more likely to run away from their US citizenship than dream about obtaining it.
