About Ethereum Classic
Ethereum Classic is smart contract platform based on original Ethereum. It started as Ethereum fork in 2016, after Ethereum suffered attack on its DAO decentralized organization and some miners refused to mine revised version of Ethereum blockchain where effects of this attack were reversed.
Supporters of Ethereum Classic argue that any revisions on blockchain violate its immutability and defeat the purpose of decentralized crypto currency. They also reject Ethereum Proof of Stake conscensus system and want Ethereum Classic to remain Proof of Work coin.
As a minority fork, Ethereum Classic per coin costs just fraction of original Ethereum coin price.
