Coinbase
Coinbase is one of the largest, oldest and most well known cryptocurrency exchanges. It was founded in 2012 and is head-quartered in San Francisco.
Coinbase is publically traded company trading in NASDAQ under "COIN" ticker. Being a public US-based exchange it was one of the first to adhere to strictest know-your-customer (KYC) requirements.
Coinbase is one of the rare crypto exchanges that serves US customers and offers most of the basic trading functions that you expect from a modern fully featured exchange.
It does not, however, support very high leverage and trading of privacy-focused coins, due to regulatory risk.
